Und dabei trotzdem sehr robust und stabil. Diese Widerstandsf\u00e4higkeit bei geringem Gewicht macht es ideal zur Herstellung von Glaskolben f\u00fcr LED Lampen. Het barst niet bij blootstelling aan hoge temperaturen of bij sterke temperatuurverschillen. En toegegeven; LED Lampen worden niet zo heet als traditionele gloeilampen, maar hittebestendigheid blijft een enorme pre in termen van veiligheid. Borosilicaatglas wordt daarom vaak ook gebruikt in laboratorium-benodigdheden. Voor lampen waarvan de glasbollen gedeeltelijk met gassen zijn gevuld, is dit materiaal buitengewoon geschikt gebleken.
