FAQ
The most frequently asked questions, answered quickly!
Which LED bulb is the equivalent of my 100-watt incandescent bulb?
Which dimmer is suitable for my SEGULA LED light source?
You can find tested dimmers that are compatible with SEGULA light sources in our
dimmer list. If you do not use any of these, we generally recommend phase-cut dimmers with low power consumption!
What does the Kelvin rating mean?
Light emitted by LED light sources comes in various shades (color temperatures). However, this does not refer to colored light sources (red, yellow, blue, green, orange) but rather the ‘appearance’ of the light. This color temperature is measured in Kelvin.
Warmer light colors (warm white) range from 2,000 to 3,300 Kelvin
Neutral light colors (neutral white) range from 3,300 to approx. 5,000 Kelvin
Daylight white light colors (daylight) range from 5,000 Kelvin upwards.
In our knowledge base, you will find a more detailed explanation with some examples of which color temperature is suitable for which application.
What is the CRI?
CRI – the Color Rendering Index – is the metric that indicates the color rendering of a light source. In German, this is known as the ‘Farbwiedergabeindex’ or the abbreviation ‘Ra’, which we frequently come across. The maximum value is 100. This means that the closer a light source’s CRI is to 100, the better its color rendering. Theoretically, the maximum value of 100 represents the optimal color rendering of the wavelengths we can perceive.

What do the symbols on the packaging mean?
I ordered 10 light sources – why aren’t they all exactly the same size?
Because at SEGULA, everything is still made by hand. This is primarily to ensure consistent quality. That’s why there are minimal variations within a product range. However, these variations ALWAYS fall within the specified tolerances!
I’m a retailer – do I get special terms?
Of course! Simply sign up via the retailer registration and enjoy the benefits!
How long will it take for my order to arrive?
We usually deliver within 2–3 working days! If you’re ordering larger quantities or for a specific project, delivery times may of course vary! This is partly because we work with manufacturers worldwide and some of our high-quality goods are still handmade to order. If you want to ensure your order arrives on time, please don’t hesitate to simply send us an email or give us a call!
How do I dispose of my old incandescent bulbs or LED light sources properly?
Under the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG), we are obliged to take back your old appliances free of charge.
You can find further information on disposal here.
